Chennai 's New Attraction Adyar Eco Park named as Tholkappiyar Poonga
Tamilnadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi has opened the Adyar Eco Park in Chennai. Many reformations made in that Park in Chennai. Our Tamilnadu CM named that Eco Park as Tholkappiyar Poonga to honour Tholkappiyar, the author of Tamil Grammar book Tholkappiyam. Tholkappiyar is one of the fine oldest writers in Tamil. By his Tholkappiyam book we can enlighten our Tamil Grammar knowledge.
On the Inauguration day, features of Adyar Eco Park was screened for the View of Honourable CM and ministers of Tamilnadu. On 3rd January 2011, Our Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was Scheduled to open this park, But due to the Change in Schedule CM of Tamilnadu Inaugurated the park.
Special Features of Adyar Eco Park named as Tholkappiyar Poonga
Tamilnadu State Government has spent about INR 23 crore for this renovation project of Adyar Eco park. Total surrounding area of this Adyar Tholkappiyar Poonga is about 58 acers. More than 170 varieties of trees and other shrubs, herbs, reeds are planted here. This restoration project was done by the same peoples who did the Pitchandikulam Forest project. Anna University Chennai Supervised this Chennai Tholkappiyar Poonga Project. After the renovation works, Now nearly about 27 kinds of fish and 91 types of birds are available in Chennai Adyar Tholkappiyar Park.
Entry Fee for Adyar Eco Park named as Tholkappiyar Poonga at Chennai is not yet decided by Government of Tamilnadu.
Timings to visit Adyar Eco Park named as Tholkappiyar Poonga at Chennai will be announced after the Completion of the remaining construction works.
Opening Day of Adyar Eco Park named as Tholkappiyar Poonga at Chennai is 15th Febraury 2011.
